Sewage on my Lawn for 18 days; 47 days to repair almost to Code
8/22 - 10/07
18 days of sewage approximately 7ft x 4ft on my lawn between bedroom (office) & bathroom windows. Just a few feet from my office window, the stench was overwhelming & nauseating.
8/22: a pipe from neighbor's unit to septic tank broke;
8/24: pipe re-connected by off the books plumber, Kurt
8/30: Kurt returned, fiddled with the pipe & left. Sewage continued to spew.
9/03: Sent letter (excerpt)
to Five Skies including statement that sewage had been on my lawn since 8/22.
9/06: My letter to Five Skies LLC was received
via USPS priority mail.
9/08: Sewage was on still on my lawn, i.e., 18 days.: Kurt hosed sewage into the lawn & connected the outdoor water tap. Bleach should have been applied per DSPS code, but was not done.
The pipe was not properly capped when I moved in; it was covered with a very old & cracked/broken Folger's coffee canister.
10/04 I wrote
to the Wood County Depart of Health to ask who was in charge of water quality.
10/07 Kurt reappeared to repair the pipe cap to code 47 DAYS from broken pipe 8/22.
This work was done by the same off the books plumber, Kurt Wilkinson, who replaced some or maybe all of the pipes in my unit without a permit. Is it to code? Can't know as no permit = no inspection
Neither he nor Five Skies made any attempt to assess the iron problem or correct the iron content of the water that flowed from every tap every day from since I moved in on 4/27.

PLEASE NOTE: Governor Walker forwarded my letter of 9/26 to Michelle Reinen, Director - Bureau of Consumer Protection/DATCP with his instructions to file an expedited complaint.
While I won't say DATCP is a worthless use of time/energy, I would say it's close to
that. DATCP has no power of enforcement. When they collect "enough" info re any particular business, landlord,...well, to be honest I don't know what they do. Send a stern "don't do that" letter, maybe. How much info is enough? How many people need to be hurt before they do whatever they do...."depends."
After Nick & Arendt sent their bogus "responses," I received an email from DATCP confirming no enforcement; their recommendation: small claims court and "Have a nice day!"
