New Paragraph
Why did I move myself, my business, & two cats to Wisconsin ?
I was an independent insurance broker specializing in life insurance for older people & annuities; competition was fierce.
In the Twin Cities, I was sitting on freeways stuck in traffic investing an hour to travel 9 miles.
My savings had been wiped out by the cost of treatment for invasive breast cancer 2008-2010 so the moving expense & business risks were serious issues.
New to the insurance business in 2012, I fell for the hype of an agency and lost a lot of time & invested a lot of credit-card money with no return on the investment.
I needed to reduce living expenses & spend more time with clients instead of sitting in Minneapolis/St Paul traffic jams. Over the last 40 yrs, I've lived in
Boston, Denver, Los Angeles and had been back in Minneapolis since 1993. It still wasn't an easy decision to make as a 66 years old woman with no family.
After investing two months in the necessary research & many miles driven to decide between Illinois, Wisconsin, & Iowa, I chose the Wisconsin Rapids area for its demographics,
central location & proximity to a few bigger cities. I was optimistic about the opportunity to be able to work in both Wisconsin & Minnesota in order to get back on track financially.
I planned to live here for one year and then relocate dependent upon where my new business was most successful and had better housing options.
Their attorney, Patrick Arendt (who claims to have expertise in Residential Real Estate), abetted Five Skies desire to perpetuate their fraud, ignore laws, codes, and regulations requiring necessary repairs while collecting full rent by filing a fraudulent claim for my eviction. Rather than expanding my business, now :
■ I am in default on four credit cards.
■ I have only social security for income.
■ I owe about $850 to my bank as my perfect 20 yr record with them is demolished. My credit record is now in ruins.
■ I am hoping to be able to make the next rent payment but it's not looking good.
■ Electricity was disconnected for non-payment last month & disconnection of city water was barely avoided 2 months ago.
■ My 25 year old Corolla needs about $3,500 in repairs; the car's value (Kelly Blue Book) is about $250.
■ I owe 3 insurance companies about $2,200 for lapsed MN policies that I could not get reinstated due to situation caused by landlord,
their "off the books" plumber, and the attorney who helped them scoff at laws, regulations, building codes, and filing a fraudulent claim for my eviction.
■ 400+ clients have been stranded w/o their broker to assist them with annual Medicare changes, life insurance, and annuity options.
■ In May 2017, my Medicare supplement lapsed for non-payment of premium.
■ Now I cannot afford treatment for the recurrence of invasive breast cancer & lymphedema. Other symptoms were under initial evaluation
to determine whether I have congestive heart failure &/or DVT &/or VTE &/or eosinophilic fasciitis and/or ? I'll never know because I can't afford
the 20% cost of the diagnostic tests the Medicare supplement would have covered.
The swelling & thickening of the skin in my calves and ankles make it difficult to climb stairs & some days merely walk. I cannot bend my knees;
the pain is astonishing, the skin has been swollen so long it has been breaking down and bleeding. My feet are so swollen they can't be
jammed into my too-big boots of last year.
■ My cherished 17 yr old cat is ill. I can't afford his treatment; I can't even afford to have him euthanized.
